Re: Grainfather first brew - bit of a disaster

My typical brew day is 4.5 hours with a few tricks and some preparation the night before. 8am start- water is ready waiting at mash in temp using the delayed start function Grains and water treatment all weighed out and ready to go, done the previous night. Mash in and mash for an hour followed by a...

There’s a 3D printed adapter. It might be of use to someone. I’m gonna get one printed at work.

I’ve been looking at this one. It’s about £65 delivered, but does glass bottles and is stainless steel.

Re: Purging co2 without a purge valve?

Do you mean when it’s full of beer or after the keg has kicked so you can get the spear out safely ? I do it one of two ways. Once the keg has kicked I just leave the tap open until all the co2 is purged. If you want to do it while it’s full of beer. Just undo the co2 inlet on the keg connector (min...

Re: GF - Starting boil as I sparge?

If you’ve got the connect controller it will heat the wort to 98 degrees once you start the sparge and keep it there until you tell the sparge counter you’ve added all the water. Very clever really

Re: Grainfather app question

What phone are you guys using ? On my iPhone if I go out of range I still get notifications to all steps, it just doesn’t tell me what to add, just that it’s a whatever minute addition. And since update 2.5.3 the app automatically reconnects when I get back in range and resumes where it left off onc...

Re: inline carbonater

I used 2 micron. It worked very well indeed, but I reused the pump to make a beer line cleaner and never put it back together. I find it just as easy to shake for and minute and leave it for a few days.
