Re: Mandarin Dream

This extract is supposed to be good as I believe it contains no added oil https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/gb/groceries/nielsen-massey-pure-orange-extract-60ml?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImaf96bCn5AIVBrDtCh1LCwOSEAQYBiABEgIAjfD_BwE&storeId=10151&langId=44&krypto=YsHl3eRu7hJQN%2BV%2BwluJr...

Re: Too much froth

Are you sure you've got mixed gas? Those bottles require a different regulator.

Try reducing the pressure slightly and see if you get a steady pour.

I've used the same method with highly hopped DIPAs Kev and no issues here.

Re: Weatheroak Hill Brewery / Sunshine Marmalade 4.7%

It is possible to use something like that. All depends on the size of the container and the amount of hops used. Obviously you will get better extraction by dry hopping loose. As I ferment in a fridge I drop the temp to 0c at the end of fermentation, this compacts the yeast and hop pellets quite nic...

Re: Flat Coopers Irish Stout

Right, that's not 100% malt extract. Obviously it's better than pure dextrose but you'll have much better results with 100% DME. Give it a go on your next batch.

Re: Flat Coopers Irish Stout

You haven't said what other fermentables you have used with the stout kit. I've done the Cooper's stout a few times and had best results by using 1kg of dried malt extract with the kit. You'll get a good lasting head and plenty of lacing all the way down the glass.

I've been using this cable for the last few years without issue. Much beefier than the standard one:

Re: High ABV

First thing I'd say is your efficiency is probably higher than that of the recipe. Happens to me all the time, especially with recipies using less malt. It seems to increase my efficiency further as I brew BIAB.

Re: Excess Barrel Pressure?

If you've got the sparkler fitted maybe remove it. My standard bottom tap pressure barrels require a very slow pour until the gas pressure drops but I am able to get a pint without loads of foam.
