Re: coopers english bitter

I've pimped this kit with a 15g dry hop of East Kent Goldings and 1kg of Medium DME. Certainly improved, without overdoing it.

Re: Orange zest

I tried using the peel from grapefruit in the past. I found it a right pain, not a big yeald, and not much taste in the final product either. I've brewed the Sunshine Marmalade using dried orange peel and the hit was instant, not to mention easy to add! It's worth mentioning that there isn't that bi...

Re: Kits better made then they used to be?

I did a Woodforde's Admiral's Reserve 2 can kit at the start of March. I haven't brewed a kit for years after switching to all grain so wanted to see if they have improved and bought the 2 can premium kit to give it the best chance. I've got it in a Sankey keg at the moment, carbed slightly, and to ...

Re: Weatheroak Hill Brewery / Sunshine Marmalade 4.7%

Lol. I just re-read my earlier posts and the brewery had changed the recipe to use extract but didn't change the recipe on the OP. I just stuck to the orange peel as I bought a 250g bag if it. Had the Mandarina hops back yesterday so looking forward to planning a brew day!

Re: Weatheroak Hill Brewery / Sunshine Marmalade 4.7%

Almost 2 years later, just buying the hops to re-brew this. This is a cracking summer brew, highly recommended! How much of the Nielsen-Massey extract do you add per 23 litre brew? Cheers Tom I didn't use the extract, I bought dried bitter orange peel off ebay and used 55g as per the OP. Turned out...

Re: S30 elastic band failed

2 tips with these PBs for a good sign of if they are holding pressure, or how much pressure they contain; keep an eye on the bottom bowing out and also after a few days push the band on the cap down a bit and you should hear CO2 coming out. If you're not drinking the beer quick enough just keep an e...

Re: King Keg pressure leak or not?

Just a thought, make sure you don't over tighten the cap and deform the seal. I made this mistake in the past!
