Just came across this. Does anyone know if these are still available as I can’t see them listed on the web.

Re: stir plate issues

+1 for the triangular shaped bars. I had the same issue until I went triangular. Works a treat with my home made stir plate.

Re: What size stir bar?

When I built mine I tried all shapes and sizes. I've finally found that a triangular bar works the best as it doesn't fly off at all. All the others did no matter what I did. I've got a 2ltr flask. The stir bar is about one inch long and works fine.

Hope that's of some help

Re: Polykeg to Beer Engine? The ABCs Please

Sorry PCP, I missed the follow up. The cleaning set up is a equal tee piece, beer flowing through the straight bit. Then off the spur, an stop valve like this ebay link , going on to an open ended piece of beer line. I then shut the beer off (another stop valve), stick the open beer line in a bucke...

Re: Cask breather with a polykeg

Heb,

That sounds like a possible cause. That and the fact I think the gas intake may be under liquid.

Asd,
That's worth a look.

I've just put the gas straight to the keg at 3psi and it seems to work ok. The beer engine is about 18" higher than the keg itself.

Thank you for the replies folks.

Steam brew, thanks for the advice re your post.

GDB,

Many thanks for the pics and post. That's a great setup. Does the beer in the pipes on the beer engine side of the check valve get spoiled or is it just pull and pour when you start again.

Re: Polykeg to Beer Engine? The ABCs Please

Aj, It's the polykeg which is a mini hardish plastic keg with the Sankey connection, not the collapsible bag type. I fully understand how it works etc after reading other posts however it's the more finer details on how to flush the pipes with it all still connected ie how to fit a y piece for clean...
