Re: New indoor brewery and 'cellar'

Crikey - is that whole space dedicated to brewing?! That's quite a brewshed. How come you are not putting some taps in and using corneys or Sankey kegs? And a beer engine / cask set up too? May as well just build a pub with all that space ;)

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

Belle saison is a French saison like 3711, I find i get more citrus notes. For Belgian saison try safbrew be134, nice Belgian character with spice notes I took your advice on thia and pitched 2 packets of be134 into 33litres @ 1059. Pitched at 23c and let it warm to 26c. It's at 1005 after just 48h...

Re: Rhubarb beer

Using fresh rubarb in any beer I've tried just doesn't come through. I even did one with nearly 5kg in across the boil and FV. Pretty sure commercial ones where you can defo taste it are from adding at bottling / kegging?

Re: John guest fitting for a npt threaded keg connector.

Ali express as I could not find them here with PRVs. Probably explain it! #-o They defo aren't the same thread as my stype connectors as I have loads of JG fittings for them. Same size, ever so slightly different thread.

John guest fitting for a npt threaded keg connector.

I ordered 2 Sankey keg connectors and they have come without BSP threads so my JG connectors do not work. I assume they are npt. Anyone know where I can get them? Into 3/8 beer line.

Cheers

What to blend with this?

Morning, Sometime ago my life was facing a period of instability (to say the least) and all my brewing gear had to go into storage. I had few of those 30 liter polykegs and figured at the time I should at least fill them with something that would benefit from extended ageing and then at least when I...

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

Figured I would post an answer to my own question above RE the Cross my loof belgium yeast. After using their kolsch yeast which finished a touch high I was a little hesitent to use it. But figured why not just brew something simple and see what it's like. Brewed a straightforward Belgium single wit...

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

Cheers :)

I can't stand belle saison personally. The fact it finishes low (1002 in my case) is about it's only saison characteristic (IMO). It just doesn't have the dry, refreshing spiciness I'm after. Though never gone mid twenties with it. Perhaps that's why. Keen to try the MJ french one tho.

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

Does anyone have any feedback on their belgium yeast? Temps, attenuation, time taken etc. I got a few of these yeasts and pitched 2 packs of their kolch yeast into 30 liters of 1050 alt-bier. Started like a train but dropped at 1014. Had it at 16c until the krausen started falling and then ramped it...

Sankey spares

Morning. Anyone know where I can buy the NRVs for re beer line? I have a few couplers and a few appear to be missing them :(. Have managed to track down the the little rubber gas side duck bill thingys. Failing this do corny posts have NRV in them? As I see malt miller sells posts you can screw the ...

Re: Pitching yeast slurry from a beer that stalled

Figured i could probably do both. Pulled about 200ml out of collection bottle and dropped it into 2l of DME. Now on a stir plate. Will give it till Monday and see what it finishes at. Ideally I want the alt bier on the dry end of the style so probs aiming for 1010 / 1011. As an aside my Gigayeast br...
