Re: Fruit from amelanchier trees + calamondin

Just found this at - http://rawedibleplants.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/amelanchier-species.html "Raw edible parts All species from the Amelanchier genus have edible fruit but some taste nicer than others. It is important to ensure the fruit is dark and ripe before eating to get the best of the flavour. ...

Re: Homebrew on the BBC

Having watched the second video I think I can see where I am going wrong. I brew in a tee shirt and shorts whereas I should be wearing a collar, tie and Jacket preferably with a handkerchief in the breast pocket. [-X \:D/

Two great videos. Thanks for the links.

Re: Bergland 50l false bottom diameter?

On the subject of Bottom drain Off centre close to one edge seems logical as others have said a slight tip and the vessel will be nearly completely empty Good idea that. I have used Smiths of the Dean before. I am lucky that I can pop in and collect on my way home from work.

Re: Kegkingdom brewpump 3000

Thanks for the review. I have been looking for a suitable pump for whirlpooling and have just about decided on one of these (just waiting for enough beer tokens)

I await you test with pellet hops as this will be what I want one for.

ps - couldn't find the links to you vids

If you are worried about using a propane burner inside you could always get a Carbon Monoxide detector. Fairly cheap for peace of mind.

Re: When to pick your home grown/wild hops

Very interesting. I have just moved house and find I have a lot of presumably wild hops along one boundary fence. Is it best to dry them and then refrigerate/freeze or to freeze green?

From an aesthetics point of view I prefer the central drain option - this however is a PITA to build (and quite...
