Re: split wort brewing

I watched this recently as well and was intrigued by the process and also in how the different yeasts change the same wort. I normally brew about 75 litres a go so this would be good to try and get a few styles out of one brew day!

Re: Immersion chiller or plate chiller?

I have both and always use my plate chiller as it does the job with little intervention from me and much quicker than an IC. I sanitise it at the same time that i sanitise my fermentation vessels so no hassle there. The only plus i can see with the IC is that the cold break gets left in the boiler w...

Re: Hop rocket

Yes thats what i do although i find that you can lose a bit of clarity to the beer so i tend to transfer to another vessel, add finings and then transfer to corny to force carbonate

i've ordered 6 from them in the past. Yes they are scuffed and have stickers on them but they all hold pressure and do the job. Bargain!

Re: question for cask widge users

I use the cask widge system when dispensing beer from my cypherco kegs at party's . I find the system really good as you can have the barrel vertical and much less hassle banging in the initial wedge thing! My only slight bug bear is that as the float is floating on the top you tend to draw a bit of...

Re: Pub Cask Stuff

i have two of these casks and when i do a brew i'll fill a couple of king kegs and then fill a cask. This gets left waiting for a party! A mate is having his 50th next week and hey presto one cask ready and waiting! I use a cask widge to dispense with my beer engine. Really easy to use !

Milk every time! Normal printer paper works fine, just keep it dry!

Re: Using a pub cask

I use a cask but instead of hammering in the tap i use a caskwidge system, it fab! The barrel stay's upright and much easier to use with a beer engine! :D
