I found the biabacus told me I didn't have the volume required but brewsmith said I did. Brewsmith was correct.

I use water from a dehumidifier and it stays clear till I've used it all.

and it is the right way up, will work one way but not the other

If i remember right when i did mine it is very easy to get upside down, very little in it to tell the difference

did you get the plastic disk at top of plunger seal the correct way round?

None so far, hops seem to have a slight problem covering the exit so you get a bit of trub through, not much of a problem.
