Re: Bottling Your Brew Part 1 - Greedy Dragon Brewing

Wow 2 video's totalling 28 mins to show how to use a bottling stick from a bottling bucket. Im thinking of doing a 20 min video of me typing this reply. As the original post seems to be almost five years old, are you fairly slow at typing or do you just like considering your options before replying...

Re: Clean-in-place Spray Ball - ANY Fermenter/Keg

As I have shared before, my water butt pump has a good flow rate and is plenty good enough to spin either of my CIP balls, for sankey keg or conical cleaning duties. … Thanks Matt. Previously I'd been a bit dismissive about water butt pumps because of their weak power (many quoting a 7m head, which...

As I have shared before, my water butt pump has a good flow rate and is plenty good enough to spin either of my CIP balls, for sankey keg or conical cleaning duties. Not sure of the exact flow rate I am getting from the pump and CIP but I will have a go at the weekend and at least estimate it if tha...

Re: Heating and cooling options for conical.

Hi Digby, I'm guessing you're using the jacket? Does the heater pad attach to the tank somehow or is it held by the jacket? Do you have to move your fermenter? Did you use some kind of quick disconnects for the coil? Kev, yes it would be either/or, with shiny being the preferred option. I haven't m...

Re: Heating and cooling options for conical.

Hi, I have a 1/2 barrel BME Chronical, so the same volume but different design to your unitank. I use the SS Brewtech FTSS controller with a bit of a tweak. The heat pad is standard, but the cooling output goes to a simple relay to switch on my Maxi 210. From a standing start, the Maxi can crash coo...

Too pricey or not needed by anyone? [emoji16]

It looks like Hermes will be no more than £6.49 for the King Keg if that helps clarify.

Re: Clean-in-place Spray Ball - ANY Fermenter/Keg

I think that is really interesting. Must all be to do with the flow rate / pressure I guess. I am really pleased with the performance of my soray ball. :)

Re: Clean-in-place Spray Ball - ANY Fermenter/Keg

Not sure if it is useful, but I have found my Hozelock water butt pump works really well with my SS brewtech CIP ball. Less success with the chugger style of pump as the flow rate seems inadequate.

I look forward to learning how you get on.

Regards,

Matt

King Keg Top Tap + basic pressure barrel

Hi folks, I use sankey kegs these days and my previous kegs are just gathering dust. I have a basic pressure barrel with both S30 and CO2 bulb caps as well as a simple pressure relief cap. I think £15 seems sensible? I also have a King Keg Top Tap for sale. It comes with an S30 lid but the float tub...

Re: Base grains

I have recently tried Minch malt for my British style beers and it seems very good. I use mainly Swaen or Weyermann malts for my European brews. The Swaen seems to be excellent quality and I have made a cracking Belgian Blond using their pilsner as the base malt. They used to be owned by Grolsch but...
