Best price for 25kg sacks of grain?
Hi folks, I need a couple of 25kg sacks of uncrushed base malt and just checking where people are going to get the best price and service? I know of all the usual online bods like Malt Miller etc but wonder if there are other options that are under £40 a sack. Maybe I am just being tight! [emoji1787...

Re: Chevalier malt addition.
That looks nice. What does the chevalier add to the beer beyond the Maris Otter version? Not used chevalier myself and interested!Rookie wrote:I only lasted six days.

Re: Berlin Breweries documentary
Doh, you are correct. My browser was auto translating the subtitles in real time when I checked. It is also on You Tube (where you can also have it translate to English subtitles if needed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wE71y2iflQ&t=60s I will have another go there. I love a bit of German brewi...

That looks really interesting, but I can only see options for German subtitles. I will try again later!

Thanks for this. I have had this running on the TV in the garden bar and it has been pretty interesting! Ron certainly likes a chat. [emoji1787]

Re: WLP550 yeast starter clumping
It certainly smells suitably phenolic and "Belgian" as usual, and yes I will have a taste. It just looks so different to usual I wonder if it is drifting due to being several generations on from when I bought it?

I realise I have posted this in the wrong section. If a moderator could move it to the Yeast section, please, that may help!
Many thanks

WLP550 yeast starter clumping
Hi folks, I have made lots starters with various yeast strains over recent years. I tend to over-build so I can keep some in the fridge in a sanitised jar for next time and they always work well when woken from their slumber for another starter. Today I noticed the WLP550 (Achouffe strain) starter t...

I too asked several suppliers for sankey keg o rings with no luck. I will keep trying though and share details if I find anything!

Re: GF connect software
I use Beersmith for recipes, import them into Graonfather site then use the Android app to connect for the brew day. The app used to be simple and has bloated over time with all kinds of community features I don't need. However it still works reliably for me, reconnecting after going out of range et...

I often have around 30 litres pre-boil in mine. Just be ready to spray or pat down the hot break or use a little anti-foam.

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast
I currently have a hoppy pale / APA on tap using their Haze yeast. Hop aroma comes through well and it is great, but has dropped perfectly clear which amused me!

Re: What fridges are we using?
Here's a tall (633mm) corny keg in my fridge. Loads of room - the disconnects only add a couple of cm above the corny handles. This is a fairly old under counter fridge where the height in front of the hump is 72cm. Another under counter fridge I have is 70cm. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49...
