Thanks, that's reassuring. Is it varnished on the underside?
Varnished all over, only so I don't have to care which way round I put it. Screwfix cheapo yacht varnish is fine once cured properly.

That's not the voltage drop. Voltage drop is dependant on the current drawn and the resistance of the cable. V = I * (R^2)

Re: Camlocks - anyone found a cheap supply?

I've just bought some 1.5" ones from http://www.globalcoupling.com/products/ ... -steel-316 at a stupidly cheap price.

Smallest they do though is 3/4"

Re: Element sizes for 4bbl brew

It takes more energy to heat water than to maintain a boil. So I'd say it's so he can reduce the time required to heat the wort to temperature then, by having 3 6 and 12 he has a good range of power to choose from to maintain the boil. Spot on! In the summer, 9kw can hold the boil. In the winter I ...

Re: Hunting for ideas to a problem...

Use t90 pellets. They'll drop out when you crash cool and you can run the sludge off. Easier with conicals but works with flat bottomed tanks too.

Re: Element sizes for 4bbl brew

We have a 9kw and a 6kw in our's. If I had the choice I'd actually go for a 12, a 6 and a 3.

Re: SWP 2144 CO2 Regulator - Help

I used a 3/8" to 6mm fitting from A&B air systems in wrexham. I usually use metric fittings (then a 10mm to go on normal beer/gas line at the end) because I can pick them up anytime I want.

JG do a 3/8" BSP to 3/8" speedfit connector. Not on the computer at the moment so haven't got a link.

They didn't have a choice. Business partners falling out and all that.

By the way, was it any of you lot who popped in on the 11th of Feb when I was brewing with Alex?

Re: anyone know were to buy whirlfloc?

Alfie,

If you fancy popping down to the brewery on Sunday afternoon, I'll give you a large handfull of Protofloc tablets for bugger all.

I assume you're still in Wrexham.
