Re: Inline filter

You'd need to flush it with CO2 to avoid oxygenation?

I'd be interested in one of these (or something like it) to avoid dry hop sludge making it into my kegs. Not if it's going to substantially increase exposure to oxygen tough.

Re: elvis juice

I seriously doubt they use actual grapefruits at the brewery. The cold pressed extract is great stuff, I'd highly recommend that route otherwise you are going to need lots of grapefruit and you'll probabaly still be underwhelemed by the flavour.

Re: Magic Rock (UK) Cannonball clone help

I did a steep/whirlpool in place of hopback. I do 10-15 mins post boil and leave them in for cooling. Yep, its about 500g for 25L. Not a cheap brew :)

Re: Magic Rock (UK) Cannonball clone help

The founder of Magic Rock, Rich is very generous with advice and recipes. I asked him for the Cannonball one a while ago and he sent it. Its for a 5000L batch so you may want to scale it down :) Volume 5000L Target Gravity 1065 Finishing Gravity 1007 Malt 525Kg Golden Promise 575Kg Extra Pale 50Kg A...

How do you find the tilt? It's a sexy bit of kit :)

Easy to clean? Battery lasts a while? Connectivity solid?

Re: Any Interest in Printed Bottle Caps?

Received mine today. Not great to be honest. Placement varies and some of the printing has either come away or didn't go on right in the first place.

Re: Brew builder 3Kw LWD is 13amp plug ok

Here I get 240vac and when I use a 3kw pigtail element it draws 12.5a, so it works for me. I also do use 16a mains cable with a 13a plug If you set fire to somthing upthetoon then you did somthing wrong in your box Yes, I have no doubt it was my wiring :) I was just emphasising how careful you have...

Re: Brew builder 3Kw LWD is 13amp plug ok

I've used one through a normal plug for a while.

The plug itself got fairly warm / hot.

I also set fire to my home build controller.

I now have it housed in a metal box on the wall with a 16amp plug. Better safe than burnt to a crisp.

I made a batch of Cannonball that had 530g in it. It was excellent but I probably could have bought a keg from the brewery for the cost of it!

Re: "Juicy" IPA/pale ale

I asked Beavertown for a couple of recipes a while back. They don't give out exact details but he did provide enough to go on... Neck Oil Grist 88% Extra Pale 12% Carapils Hops Bittering - Magnum (just a tiny, token amount) Flame out - Columbus (25%), Simcoe (37.5%), Centennial (37.5%) Dry hop- Mosa...

Re: Broken my sight glass...

Just seen this hopefully not to late. I have a brew builder sight glass tube and snapped it as well. I got a length of syphon tube and wrapped PTFE tape round the end and wedged it back in to the elbow. Not a perfect fix but it allowed me to brew and have done two more brews like it since. Did the ...

Broken my sight glass...

Damn it. I had a slight leak from my sight glass so before a brew day tomorrow I took it apart to clean and retape before reassembling it. I've sheared the poly tube off in the elbow. Does anyone know what size bolt I need (preferably from screwfix) that I can go out and get to seal up the hole and ...

Re: Grapefruit extract

Which uk craft brewery are using this ? I see its a easy way of adding the grapefruit hit and takes alot of work out of it but it seems a bit less craft and a bit more artificial flavouring to me (and yes i know technically its a natural flavouring) I guess it may feel like a bit of a cheat but the...
