Its both kegs, when dispensing clear beer and pressure is maintained. I have bought some new o rings, but will check the dip tubes. Cheers.

Re: Keg question

Aside form the current couple of foaming issues, I keep the pressure at the right psi to temperature for the type of beer on the regulator. If i am not using the beer for a while, i disconnect the C02 and put a gauge on, and the pressure is normally maintained. Then reconnect when i use. I am thinki...

Re: Keg question

Thanks for the reply... using the same yeast next so will be more thorough. I also did some more research on the archives and realised I haven't changed the dip tube valves for a while and this may be letting gas by. Because on some brews one of the foaming issues is when its 50% through, and then i...

Keg question

I have for some time use two kegs in a converted fridge for my beer dispensing, I use an adjustable faucet and 1m of 3/16 beer line ... the question I have is every now and then I get a brew with a foaming issue. One issue is, I can get a perfectly good beer that holds pressure (i.e. doesn't increas...

Recipe additions

I've been repeating a bitter recipe to improve and get consistency for some hops I'm growing. The base malts being Pale and Crystal with a Wyeast 1275. I would like to try and introduce more nutty/breadier notes and was wondering what additions you would use or substitute... recently I was drinking ...

Kolsch and MJ 54 yeast

Hello,

I can cobble together some leftover malts before I reorder, and my ingredients let me brew a Kolsch. I also have a spare MJ 54 Californian lager yeast and was wondering if anyone has tried it for a Kolsch? And if its any good?

Cheers.

I did used to put it on the compost, but i just got more mice... even trotting across the garden! Mice love my place so I'm afraid it all goes in the bin now.

Northern Brewer

Hello!... I am planning a Kolsch and noticed I have an unused bag of Northern Brewer, is this a good pairing? I've done some research to check but not much was coming up.

Cheers

Re: Adding cocoa nibs

They were right at the bottom, no problem and out of the way when I was dropping the beer into the keg. No need for a muslin bag. :D

Cheers,

Re: Dry Hopping With Pellets - In PB

I find the best way to deal with pellets dry hopping is to crash cool. This seems the best method, certainly for me, that ensures the racked beer is clear and free of hops/debris.

Adding cocoa nibs

Morning all, when adding nibs during the fermenting stage, what happens to the nibs, do they just drop to the bottom? I was thinking of just dropping them in rather than using a muslin bag.

Cheers

Re: Adnams Crystal Rye IPA

Not yet, but going to give it a go. The malts are listed on the website, but i suspect other ingredients as you say. It seems harder to get chocolate rye so I was going to sub it with cara rye and see how its goes.
