Re: PET plastic fermenter lifetime?

Kev, FYI there is a company here in Australia that is releasing a new range of PET fermenters later this month. They can be used to ferment under pressure and dispense the naturally carbonated beer directly from the fermenter. See https://www.kegland.com.au/fermzilla-55l-conical-uni-tank-fermenter.h...

Re: Compact 3-Vessel system

Kev888, its so good to see your innovative design ideas matched up with your knowledge and workmanship. In these days of 'out of the box' plug-n-play brewing systems the home made brewery is becoming a rare thing. Pls keep up the good work. Its a joy to see.

Re: No chill cube

But yourself a Fresh Wort Kit of your liking and ferment the wort into beer (enjoy!), leaving you with an empty cube that has proven its ability to handle hot wort and seal well.

Re: drilling holes stainless steel pots

if using a step drill clamp/tie down the pot/work piece, holding it with your spare hand may not be enough to counter the kick when a 'next step' engages.. Yes, and also orientate the pot so its curved sides are running east-west when you stand in front of it with the drill. In other words the curv...

Re: Cellar/Cold Room Air Con Advice

It is possible to run a coolroom off a standard wall-mounted air con unit, and at substantial energy savings over commercial coolroom solutions. Check out Coolbot (http://www.storeitcold.com/coolerconstruction.html ) to get some ideas. This is a proprietary temp controller that prevents the air-con ...

Re: Gas boiler shroud/windshield

[quote="Jocky"]I'm looking at doing something similar for boiling outdoors in winter or when windy. My major concern is what will happen to the ball valve on the side of the boiler - I don't want it to get melted. I wondered whether if I created a shroud that I could create a shield around the valve...

Re: Gas boiler shroud/windshield

Kev888, I’ve been reading about rocket stoves used in developing countries to cook food using just a few handfuls of sticks and twigs. Been wondering if some of the principles could be used in homebrewing. An important feature of institutional rocket stoves (ie. those used to prepare big pots of foo...
