Cooler to house kegs

I am toying with the idea of using a cooler to house a couple of 9L kegs which will give me a portable option as the keezer is in my garage and one in the house has seen me over-ruled on the subject... If I can only fit one then I can accept that or maybe fit one of those 5L growlers in addition but...

Re: Grade A corni kegs, 45 each.

Those look very decent for the price. I got 6 from here that were not refurbished so did require quite a lot of cleaning and some TLC but they do work fine. These were the taller ones as just measured one there. I am in the process of slowly phasing them out of the new AEB ones as I found with my 9...

Re: What’s the shelf life of trub yeast?

I am going to make use of collected yeast from my fermentasaurus with a straigh repitch using the slurry. I have it in the fridge in a 1L sodastream bottle it was collected directly in. I will be making use of the MrMalty guidance for amounts which hopefully works to plan.

Re: Filtering Wine

The kits usually provide both potassium sorbate & pottassium metabisulfite to help prevent any wild bacteria / yeast taking a hold and also to stave off oxygenation. Did you add these when it fermented out initially?

As for adding anything just now, might be worth reading up on g / l measurements?

Re: Filtering Wine

I believe oxygenation is much less of a problem with wine than it is with beer. Look how winemakers 'whip' their wine to remove the CO2 - you wouldn't do that with beer. I have a batch of wine that’s a year old now that needs transferred from 10L demijohn to bottles. Do people really just knock the...

I've brewed it 7 or 8 times now tweaking it, this is my favorite version of it :D
I like the look of that, thanks for sharing! I also notice your efficiency and losses look very similar to mine :D

Re: How to Guide: Adding more Hop Aroma

There are a few other methods, too, hop backs come to mind, as well as keg hopping. You can also use hop teas for batch priming Indeed but they are methods I haven't tried yet, not least of which I can't afford a hop back/plate chiller combo and that is one I would like to be able to do at some poi...

Re: Water analysis by Wallybrew/Pheonix analytical

Big fan of Fyne, probably my favourite scottish brewery and I always pop in there when I pass. If you went to the Loch Fyne oyster bar further round, you can order their tap water which is straight off the hill behind them - they warn you it's actually light brown as it passes through peat and it t...

Re: Water analysis by Wallybrew/Pheonix analytical

Yeah, I have to admit I am thankful I dont need to really worry about adding stuff to reduce alkalinity. I was up in Argyll for the half term break last week and popped into Fyne Ales brewery tap and shop. It was interesting that they use the water from the surrounding hills and mountains for their ...

I received my results earlier in the week. Not much has changed since my last report in 2015, nothing materially anyway.

Re: Keg Pressure loss - Schoolboy error

Thanks guys, always nice to have some reassurance for matters such as this! It is a hoppy pale and dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin amongst other hops so not the cheapest of brews to conjure up!
