Re: BM BACBrewing yield increase disc (new version) help needed

Nice one. I have the old one but may splash out on this. Also good to know the filter size as I was unsure which one would be best.

Re: Antifoam in a starter--amazing!

I have used this before to great effect. Works well in starters and the boil at no detriment to the final product. I diluted mines as per the instructions into small 15ML or so spray bottles but your method seems fine as well.

Re: Red x lager?

I have read it can be very malty. I was thinking about adding some flaked rice to it to maybe thin it a little. You are on the right lines. Keep reducing the taste until it's like most commercial lagers then highly carbonate it and chill it until it tastes like fizzy water =D> =D> Nonsense, lots of...

Yeah agree, seems a hell of a lot of sugar. It will likely be thin and possibly have that twang which makes it more cider like? Good luck tho :)

Re: Just ordered from MM--stressful!

I think they are (rightly) being pragmatic about it and making the best they can out of the current circumstances. Rob posted a video on their FB last night again explaining why they have to limit the malt orders to what they can realistically fill each day so that things dont get out of hand with a...

Re: Shortage of malt?

I put in an order last week with the Malt Miller and got 30KG (25kg MO and 5kg Vienna), lots of hops and some bits and bobs no problem. I tend to buy in these days to save going back and forward incurring courier costs every few weeks. I see the MM is out of some varieties but still some sacks of ba...

Re: Red x smash

I have made a few 100% brews with this, it is very malty so if you want that character go for it. I used 200g+ hops on a normal 21L batch which worked well but did have some malt character. What OG are you aiming for? They recommend using Pilsner malt in higher gravity brews. If you are aiming for 1...

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

I've used their Høg Nørsk yeast in a smash and it ferments fast and clean. Really liked it and bought a few more packets for future brews. How long did it take to ferment out? Did you go for the top range of 27c? The whole reason I used it was because I had another brew on the go in my temp control...

Re: Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

Anybody tried their NEIPA yeast? What a great dejection if hops they have, plenty of 2019 crop too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I have their 'Haze' yeast on a current kegged batch, not a full blown NEIPA but 300g of hops in there all the same. It has turned out very well. I used 'Pia' in...

Re: Pros and Cons?

I have a Braumeister 20 which I love. I had a short lived 3V system with a RIMS tube, PID, Blichmann Gas burner etc but luckily managed to sell most off with no great loss. For me the benefits are the time, ability to full volume mash overnight and much less cleaning. Like others have said, there ar...
