From what I have read transferring to secondary doesn't need to be done at home brew sized batches and you are increasing risks in transferring. I have left my my brews up to 5 weeks in primary fermentation, then it's off to bottling bucket or now new for me corny keg. I would check the gravity in a...

Another first for me, I finally have used one of my corny kegs for this brew, force carbed with fire extinguisher, tried it taste is a little funny at the moment, I've stuck it out in the garden tool store to chill it down hopefully get it a little clearer

How does 1010 as a final gravity reading from 1050 sound, I used wyeast 1335 English ale 2. It did get stuck at 1040, think temp in house was too cold

I’ll give that a try on my next brew, the mash was quiet stodgy, so I can see how that would help. I was reluctant to use the recipe app, fear of the unknown and learning curve, but got to say it was very intuitive to use and excellent for reminding what to do, my first brew I forgot the profloc tab...

I found the online recipe creator, came up with the amounts, I'll post what I came up with might be useful for other grain father users in the future

Not yet, but I've got all the ingredients for this and am keen to get a brew on, will be the second use of my GF, just looking for someone more experienced in these matters to guide me straight to the correct grain quantities whilst I get more familiar with the kit

Can any Grainfather brewers, help me with doing a Jim's esb, need lots of help with what amount of each grain, recommended batch size, mash and sparge water volumes.
A brief explanation on how you calculate these would be good.
