Re: Replacement controllers

I have a BM20 with the original controller (which is fabulous). Speidel do not / will not supply these as a replacement in the event of failure. Just a pretty flashing led, Internet connected, unreliable piece of junk that I really don't fancy. Has anyone got any ideas if there are any 3rd party co...

Re: Pump around to £100 mark

You can feather the speed a little as I do but if you go too slow the coupling slips. It’s better to throttle the outlet as they will run on a dead head all day long. Induction motors are super reliable if used within their spec. Nothing to wear out apart from bearings really. The Blichmann is the ...

Re: Another Counterflow Question - AliExpress

I may splash out on pbw or the malt miller el cheapo version just so damn expensive Our local band of brewers (Adelaide South Australia) makes up a cheap version of PBW. We buy sodium percarbonate and sodium metasilicate in bulk (ie 25kg bags) and mix it in a 2:1 ratio of sodium percarbonate to sod...

I grabbed a few of these, thanks Ian.

It's stout season now "down under". I'll let you know how I go.

Really looking forward to using this yeast.

RIS Attenuation

You should have used this yeast. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y386/Lastfrontiersman1/DSC_0163_zpsqynjz4ao.jpg Its one that I recovered from a thirty five year old bottle of Courage Russian Stout. It doesn't stop eating until it gets down to 1.014 :!: It is now available commercially. What wa...

Floyd, how about something like this http://kegking.com.au/mkii-high-temperature-magnetic-drive-pump-1-1-amp.html . (Please note I have no affiliation with this company). There are plenty of people in OZ using these with good results. They also have a stainless steel head option, if you are into "bl...
