Cracking build.
Didn't fancy it in yellow though?

Re: Tilt hydrometer and Raspberry Pi
I haven't tried this myself but have a fair deal of experience with Raspberry pi's, 9 times out if 10 it's the SD card, I'd try another one.

Re: New fermenter
I've had my eye on one of those for a while!
How tall is it with and without the airlock? I've always wondered if it would fit in my fridge.
Cheers!

Re: Weird Beersmith 3 water behaviour
I'm lucky in that my own water has basically nothing in it, which is why I'm so interested in calcium additions from salts. My last few beers have had a sourness to the bitterness if that makes sense, so when BS3 gave far higher predicted numbers it caused me to pause and think that I'd maybe been a...

Re: Weird Beersmith 3 water behaviour
Thanks Eric,
Those figures are similar to my own.
I use beersmith for recipe formulation and want to also include my water salts so I have a permanent record in my brew log.
It's served me well for years so that's why I'm curious it would be so off.

Weird Beersmith 3 water behaviour
Hi All, I'm playing with BS3 and the new water tab. The values look off to me though. For example, if i add 5g of calcium chloride, it says that this will add 102.8 ppm of calcium and 182 ppm of chlorides in 33.38l of RO water? Surely this is too high? My own calculations give much lower values, wha...

Re: Another Counterflow Question - AliExpress
Thanks everyone for their replies and thoughts. I've gone off the idea of the Aliexpress SS CFC now , I'm much more inclined to try and make my own wit some copper pipe, hose and fittings. Chastuck - that is a thing of beauty! Kev888 - i'd discounted a plate chiller because of sanitation concerns, m...

Re: Another Counterflow Question - AliExpress
If your water flow rate is low it would be worth getting your water board to do a flow test. There's a minimum flow rate which the board is required to provide. Can't remember what it is. It will be tested for free. If it's a problem with the supply it will be fixed for free. The flow rate here is ...

Another Counterflow Question - AliExpress
Hi, I've been considering a few options for a counterflow chiller recently, buying a grainfather one (expensive!) , making my own etc. I've seen a few stainless ones on Aliexpress such as this - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Stainless-Steel-304-Counterflow-Wort-Chiller-Brewing-Equipment-Garden-Hos...

Wow that looks a belter! Does it stay in the pot? Is the pot used for the boil? Interested!

I'd thought of this myself but the hose connections look a bit non standard, can any owners post some pictures for us?
