Re: Frozen beer! STC1000 trouble!!
I had the same issue once , it turned out that the temperature sensor probe had jumped ship and and was outside the door of the fridge , it had fallen off the keg it was attached to, and when I closed the door of the fridge , it was accidently trapped outside of the fridge . It was sensing the ambie...

Re: Panel Build
Having thought about it again, I've decided to add another powersupply, and to opt for 24v coils on the contractors, so this will remove the risks associated with having 5vdc and 230v contacts in close proximity, it will also allow me to safely directly interlock the HLT heater contactor with a low ...

Re: Panel Build
Sorry for the late reply, sometimes life gets in the way of brewing,[emoji3] I'll sit down when I get a minute and draw up a list of exactly what I need and go hunting then, what are your thoughts on mixing voltages at the panel switches, I'm planning on using a bcs unit I picked up in the states a ...

Re: Panel Build
Cheers LeeH I had checked out ebay previously, but most of the suppliers seemed to be operating from China, I was burnt by ultra long delivery times by Aliexpress over the covid lockdown, with hopeless aftercare, so I'd prefer to deal with a local based company, at least I'd be assured delivery with...

I reckon they're called tabs, I don't know where you'd get spares though

Re: BRIB build
Pics The cord grip should be securing the outer sheath of the cable and not the inner cores, there may be space within the cover, just to push the cable closer to the terminals to allow you to grip the outer sheath https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200514/d878b50fbb5c6588db4b40755b417a17.jpg Sent ...

Re: BRIB build
Polarity between live and neutral wouldn't be an issue regarding the functioning of the heater element, but traditionally it would be wired the following way, in that an electrician would expect the live to be on the right of the female socket as you look at it https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200...

Re: Boiler Power Control
Would this be overkill, you could potentially use it for rims also, by switching via a selector switch between rims and boil kettle, which would change over the digital temperature probe, the element, and pump control via relays? I have its predecessor ardbir for controlling a biab set up, and its h...

Re: Electric HERMS build
Again, I cant say thanks enough for all your help guys! I've started cutting the tops of the kegs and welded up a good few 1/2" bsp sockets for the inlet and outlet valves. Drilled out some of the ports and fitted a Tri clamp element to the HLT. The hardest thing now is having to wait for some more...

Re: Electric HERMS build
The LWDs work fine too. Regarding pumps the chuggers are great. Also look at the Blichmanns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Avoid the centre inlet chugger as the kettle pump, I bought them thinking that the larger inlet would assist pump performance, however its effectively a 1/2" bore inle...

Re: Pump Fixings
I installed a similar setup on my chugger pump, in practice I didn't need it, as once I opened the feed valve to the pump and the delivery route was open, it flooded the pump, and there was no need to prime the pump, I had also though that it would be a handy sample point, but ended up dipping a cup...
