Crossmyloof Brewery Dry Yeast

2 packs at 12 degrees. I made a helles, October fest and have a Czech dark lager. After 2 months lagering the helles is the best I have made to date. The octoberfest is excellent also, was ready to drink with 2 weeks conditioning

Re: Beersmith3 Set Up

I've given Brewfather a go this week & quite like it's setup. Easy enough to use. I do have a preference for offline apps that I can use on my phone. So Wort (android) is still my go to starting point. You can use brewfather offline on your phone, it’s a web app, just save it to your home screen Se...

Yeah, I’n my experience they are lower quality, the haden elements are top quality, but you will need to purchase a better lock nut

Re: Brewing heating element

Had one and it blew up. Also they come with a plastic shroud and tightening nut that is very hard to tighten, will loosen when heated and the threads will ring easily, u need to replace with a km7 stainless lock nut. Backerelecric.com do a really good quality 2.4 and 2.7kw version, but again u need ...

Re: Grains gone off?

If you chew them and the grain is soft don’t use them, if solid and u get a crunch the grain is still good and fresh

I have a 8 month old bad of Pilsner, about 2 kg left, has a crunch

I have an old bag of pale, it’s gone soft

All my gear is diy, but you won’t save money or build anything as well engineered as the gf

Aamcle
Totally agree.

It is now as cheap to buy as it is to build e.g brewdevil, hopcat, klarstein, robobrew.

I would use the Burco for a hlt
