Re: Grainfather first brew - bit of a disaster

After switching from a 3 vessel system to the grainfather I only have one criticism. That filter. I use a hop spider but still have issues with the filter blocking. It would be the only reason why I would sell my gf. The wort doesn’t seem as clear as it did with the 3v system either

Pumpkin ale (grainfather)

Hi all So today I had a day off so I thought I'd brew my pumpkin ale. This is solely my recipe so please criticise where appropriate (By the way I've been drinking an old English ale that I brewed a few weeks ago so apologies for that) First I cup my pumpkin n half and cleaned out the slime and seeds

Re: Air lock bubbling

I was going to ask the same question here. I am doing my final extract kit before moving to AG and decided to rehydrate my yeast before pitching it. My beer has been in the FV for nearly 3 weeks now and it's still bubbling. (Approx 1 every 30-40 seconds). I have not taken a gravity reading yet as I ...

Re: Immersion chiller or plate chiller?

Wow thanks guys, so much information. As I am a novice I think I'll start by using the IC. Maybe later when I've got my processes tuned in I'll try the PC

Immersion chiller or plate chiller?

I recently bought myself the kit needed to start all grain brewing. I got it from a guy who had all the intentions of brewing but never did. Luckily for me it's all brand new and still in its original wrapping !! Included in the kit is an immersion cooler and a 16 plate chiller. Being a newbie to br...
