Hi Guys,
Im doing a 'Milkshake IPA' and wondering about adding the fruit. I intend to add it about three days into fermentation. Question is... Pulp and boil or steep in vodka then pulp? Or any other method?
TIA

milk stout finished high
Hi guys, Just a quick question. My all grain milk stout has finished at 1020 from 1068. I dont mind it so gonna crack on and keg it. i used 500g of lactose, a bit too much? Would you add/do anything to fight the sweetness? like a dry hop or additional flavour? Actually the more i drink the sample th...

Re: tonka beans
Just another try at this... Does anyone have any idea about tonka beans. I have 50g ot them, 100g cocoa nibs and 150g toasted coconut. Thinking about throwing it all in the fermenter after a week and racking off after another week. (Milk stout). Any thoughts? TIA

tonka beans
Hi guys.
Loving tonka beans in milk stouts but wondering how you would incorporate the ingredient into the brew. Mash? Boil? Ferment?.... And quantity? Anyone dabbled?
Thanks

Cocao addition to stout
Hi guys.
Ive got a stout recipe that i like. I wondered if anyone had any advice on adding cocoa powder to a 23L brewlength at around 4.5%. Ive read that people add at last ten mins. Anyone with ant experience of adding it, the outcome, any dos and donts.
Thanks

Re: return to brewing, choc stout
Thanks Bungle. I think ive convinced myself to dump 100g of nibs into the hopbasket for a 20 minute stand and see what i get that way.
Any other thoughts on the brew anyone. Brewing saturday. Dropped the lactose and addind some oats, swapped specB and roasted barley quant around as advised.

Re: return to brewing, choc stout
Orlando, thanks for taking the time to reply. Im trying to hold a little sweetness, thats why i added the lactose. It is more of a milk stout with chocolate than a chocolate stout i suppose. Duly noted on the specialB and roast barley. Any thoughts on using nibs? I think i read about making a vodka ...
