Re: Pressure Barrel Pin Valve Leak Issues
Thank you I’ll check this also. Although from memory I think it was quite long. I guess it’s possible I haven’t fit it properly

Re: Pressure Barrel Pin Valve Leak Issues
Hi, I’ve change the small inlet seal on the bottom and doesn’t seemed to have helped. Although I haven’t checked to see whether or not valve has become rough. At the moment it seems to be hold pressure better with the bulb in place as it creating a seal with the small O’ring. Once pressure is lost a...

Pressure Barrel Pin Valve Leak Issues
Hi guys, Hoping someone can help me out here as I’m stumped! I have a gas leak from my King Keg Top Tap. I’ve changed all the seals including the tap and also Vaselined everything. The leak appears to be coming back out through the inlet pin that breaks the Co2 bulbs. But I’ve replaced the O’ring wh...

Re: Brupaks Boiler keeps cutting out!!
Afraid I don't Phil, but if you open yours up and take a photo I'll annotate what to do. However, as discussed in this thread, did you try just removing the false bottom to see if that improves things? Hi Jambo, It appears I figured it out, see the picture of how I rewired the boiler. Tested it wit...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
For those that are interested...this is how I’ve rewired my brupaks boiler. I just took the brown/black wires from the thermostat and connected them straight in the chocolate box. If anyone with a little more electric knowledge thinks this looks wrong please feel free to advise. However I did dry ru...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
Thanks mashman, but already done haha. I know that transferring to another vessel is a bit ‘old Skool’ but there was so much sediment that just wanted to have a more accurate measurement to see how much I needed to top up. Turns out it was about 5.5lts short which explains the high OG.

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
Another question I have, is that there must be at least 2" of sediment at the bottom of my FV, which I guess would mean I have lost about 2lt or so of beer. Could this be the reason why my OG was so high? I'm going to transfer to secondary fermenter today to help clear before I bottle, Would it do a...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
Thanks Fil, I think you're right regarding getting used to equipment etc. I'm quite confident that my next brew day is going to go a lot better than the last, thanks to all the advise I've received above and serious mulling over of my own. It real crappy weather here today in sunny Dartmoor (reachin...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
I was thinking of buying a converted (or convert myself) cool box. But to be honest it’s a bit out of my budget at the moment. Plus I like the idea of being as thrifty as possible and making something practical from practically nothing. :) Having said that there will come a day when I want to spend ...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
Yeah I did read about bypassing the thermostat. My boiler is the plastic brupaks one and this seems to be a common problem. Opened it up the other day and bypassing looks quite easy enough. Project for the weekend drill more holes, maybe add a splatter guard type mesh and bypass thermostat on my boi...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
Hi Kev, Thank you for your extremely detailed and informative response! That is a mistake I definitely did make regarding the run off, it wasn't until later I realised that I had just whacked the tap open full. So my next attempt will definitely running off with more care and adding more holes (or p...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
Thank you both for you reply’s. I’m going to check on the brew tonight to see if the gravity has changed at all, if not I might give the yeast a stir off the bottom to see if that gets it going at all. I’ve also raised the temp a little as it was around 18oC last night. Might try putting more holes ...

Re: First All Grain, issues and advice please
There also seems a hell of a lot of sediment, but this could be normal for all grain compared with extract? I was wondering if that could effect the fermentation?
