Re: Temporary hose and tap ...
aamcle, I would have to dig up the entire length of my drive in order to have a permanent water supply to my shed. My workaround was to ‘plumb’ a tap and high level HLT feed inside my shed and present the plumbing system on the outside wall of the shed with a ball valve and a hose connector. Then as...

Controlling the flow from a solar pump
After a couple of sparging hiccups with a gravity fed HLT I’ve decided to lower the HLT and use a pump. Is it possible to control the water flow from a 12v solar type pump with a ball valve?

Re: Brew Cupboard plan
I’d definitely go down the fridge route. Pre insulated, and if you’re going with a tube heater and inkbird, you’ve got 100% temp control, all year round.

PTFE tape on tap/shank threads
Hi all,
I’m putting together my first keezer. I’ve bought some intertap faucets and I was wondering if I should be using PTFE on the threads of the shanks etc. I’d be interested to hear from you kegorator/keezer owners.
Thanks
Jonty

Re: Everything beer engine, polypins, cask and questions
Shoreman, before getting casks (which I only use when I’ve plenty of thirsty friends around) I hooked a beer engine up to cornies. It worked pretty well. I used a check valve in the beer line, it allows the beer to be pulled on demand rather than pushed out by the gas you have set up to the corny. I...

Re: Brewhouse/Shed Wishlist
Thanks Guy - I’m convinced that this could be the solution if my current ventilation (open doors) plan doesn’t work - thanks again

Re: Brewhouse/Shed Wishlist
Pleased to have been of help. Are you thinking of getting an extractor? Seems much easier to me than covering the kettle and fitting ducting! Guy I’m not sure yet mate. I’ve taken a mahoosively long time to get back into brewing since moving house - I’ve just done my first brew in 5 years. I have a...

Re: Brewhouse/Shed Wishlist
Once again, try one of these. A major part of my lifelong collection of about 6,000 vinyl albums is in my brewery/garage. No way would I risk condensation getting to any of them. Guy Guy, do you have any hood etc over the extractor and kettle or is it purely the suction power of the fan that draws ...

Re: Brewhouse/Shed Wishlist
If you can’t or don’t want to permanently run water to your shed, you can always plumb taps and hlt feeds etc within the shed and then have a hose attachment outside so you can connect up as and when required.

Re: Gas distribution suggestions for Keezer
CE936D58-00A3-44EE-92B6-2B6B96CC2CD2.jpeg I bought a 2 way and a 4 way manifold and a decent scale pressure gauge with a 1/4npt thread from the US (£8 delivered in 4 days). The plan is to have the 2 way wall mounted with a feed to the r way in the keezer and have the spare way for pressurising kegs...

Thread sealing
Folks, I’m planning on fitting a pressure gauge to a 2 way gas distribution manifold. I know I need some sealant on the thread to keep it gas tight but I’m not familiar with any products that I could use. Would liquid puff be enough or do I need to go with something more specialist? Thanks in advanc...
