'Legs' for Splatter Guard False Bottom

I have a plastic Peco boiler I use for BIAB and a pretty sturdy stainless splatter guard false bottom which usually wedges inside the boiler. However, a few times it's come adrift and hops have blocked the tap. Does anyone know of anything made of stainless steel I can use as 'legs' to rest the spla...

Probable Stuck Fermentation

A few weeks ago I made a kit from Wilkinsons and a BIAB chcocolate porter, kind of took my eye off the ball for a while, then became ill. At about the two week mark, the kit was at about 1014, but the porter hasn't been tested. I know the problem is the temperature (they've not been above 15°c). Wha...

Exporting Custom Recipes from Beer Engine

I've just bought myself a new laptop and need to install Beer Engine on it. Does anyone know how to export or transfer custom recipes to Beer Engine on one PC to another?

Re: Drum Taps

Thanks guys. I've realised I don't think I actually meant a drum tap and have now (kind of) solved the issue by cutting the end off the tap and adding some PTFE.

2 Row Barley vs 6 Row Barley

I'm planning on using an America recipe and I've noticed it calls for 'Pale Malt (6 row)'. I seem to remember reading in a book I sadly no longer own that there is a difference between 6 row and British 2 row. At a homebrew level, is this something I should worry about, or can I substitute gram for ...

Drum Taps

I've just taken delivery of aplastic fermenting bin I bought in a rush online without checking it had a tap. I've also just bought a stainless steel bottling wand/stick. Can anyone recommend anywhere I can buy a drum tap with fast delivery? The type I'm after, I think has a knurled knob rather than ...

Electricity Load Question

For the last few years, I've been using the Grainfather G30 with the Grainfather water heater heating sparge water while mashing in the G30 at the same time using a double outdoor socket. However, I'm now in rental accommodation for a couple of years with no outside socket. Is the best way to contin...
