Anyone use a FOB detector in their home set up?

I few years ago I bought a job lot of home brew kit off Ebay. Lots of kegs, beer line, cornys, taps and fittings. There were a few items I didn't even know what they were! Finally got round to sorting a few bits of kits and found out that this thing is called a fob detector. Would this be useful for...

Re: Admiral single hop IPA

Well in the end, I dropped the crystal to 3% and no chocolate.

It's been the corny for 2 weeks now and pretty happy with it.

Not an outstanding beer but a very drinkable IPA.

I have got loads of Admiral so may churn out a few more lockdown batches.

Re: Tap with greater flow to replace electrim tap

I did the same thing with an old boiler. I installed a 15mm lever ball valve. I used a tank connector and a 1/2" bsp socket. I have also added a 12v solar pump and I can set the pump rate to allow a steady continuous sparge. These are the parts you need. https://www.screwfix.com/p/compression-tank-c...

One of my neighbours keeps chickens.

I give it to her for feed, apparently they love it.

Re: Just ordered from MM--stressful!

am I missing something? are you getting orders? does this mean they are not selling kits but are selling hops and malts? I'm slowly going insane and starting to lick the piss from my toilet bowl; They are selling malt but they are only open for orders for a few hours a day. You can order equipment,...

, maybe next time I can get a proper batch on if I can get some malt delivered.

The Malt Miller is taking order, check his Facebook page for when they open up.

Also, I used Worchester Hop Shop and got my grain in less than 10 days, so not too bad.

Re: Saaz lager -using a high AA hop for bittering?

Basically pilsner malt with 3% carapils.

Admiral for bittering and 50g of Saaz at 10 mins and 50g Saaz at flame out.

If it works I have enough Saaz for at least 2 more batches and loads of Admiral.

Re: Saaz lager -using a high AA hop for bittering?

Well I'm brewing it now.

Used 20g of Admiral instead of a load of Saaz to hit about 29IBU.

I will report back in a few weeks.

Saaz lager -using a high AA hop for bittering?

I am going to brew a Saaz lager. Based on the Greg Hughes recipe. I brewed it a couple of years ago and it came out pretty good. The Saaz I have are only 2.2% AA. Would it greatly effect the beer if I used some Admiral as the bittering hop? It would save me a lot of Saaz. I would be looking at hitti...

Does the Greg Hughes book have extract recipes in too?

Re: Anyone have a recipe for a traditional Mild?

Thanks chaps. I've just bunged a bid in on an old copy of Graham Wheelers book on eBay, so that'll be an interesting read. It's a must have. So is the Greg Hughes IMO. Some great recipes and very clear information. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Home-Brew-Beer-Master-Brewing-ebook/dp/B07Z1DCZ6J/ref=sr_1_...

Heh nah, that's true. Only ~30A, if I was to use a few strips.
30 amps is a lot of lights!
