Re: Maxi cooler python pump
Is the piping here a closed loop? I'd be interested to see more detail as I'm going to be using a Maxi to control FV temp on a Fermzilla and have a bedroom over the garage where it's going to live so am not sure if the python pump is too noisy for that.

Is that a float? Where'd you get it?

Re: Stockpots as fermenters?
30L Crusader/Kanmac keg is another option. The orange rubber American carboy caps will fit over the top and you could pressure transfer through the spear/coupler. Leaves the option open of capping the fermentation to naturally carbonate then pressure transfer (or sealed gravity transfer) to Corny. T...

Re: serving bright beer from a cornie
Definitely replaced the hose with the same spec as you used in your original post. Whether or not the beer is over carbonated would be a matter of opinion, but it is probably more carbonated than yours - 10psi @ 6c or 7c.
I will try a counterweight.

Re: serving bright beer from a cornie
I've opened this keg up and had a look at it. Going through Kev's list: - no kink in the tubing - orientation of the inlet doesn't seem to be a problem, the ball spins freely on the end of the tube so Orients itself when in contact with beer - no leaks at the point of fixing tube to dip tube (usinv ...

Triclamp gasket for Sanke Keg
I think most people using a keg for fermentation are using a 2" triclamp with a gasket that is ribbed on one side and flat on the other. These seem hard to get, but certainly available abroad. Does anyone know of a UK source?

Re: serving bright beer from a cornie
I've tried this in a Corny and am getting terrible slow flow/foaming with one of those Latstock floats, although admittedly I might be using slightly higher carbonation. Think I will try some M10 hex nuts as a counterweight on the silicon tubing.

Aye, there would be.
Does the strap itself then need to connect to anything else?

Mines a 30 litre snake keg, so no legs on it. What would you do with that strap?

Soil Heating Cable on stainless
I've read that brewbelt type heaters shouldn't be used on stainless fermenters as you may get a shock from the ungrounded fermenter if something is not wired correctly.
I've seen some folk in the past use soil warming cable - would this have the same concerns?

Caskwidge in Sanke Keg
Has anyone installed a Caskwidge or similar floating pickup system in a Sanke keg? The spear in mine looks too large in diameter to accommodate one.

Can't see how there'd be any different concern with infection vs pellet.
