Re: Wilco's Mexican Lager kit

Hi Jocky It's at serving when i noticed this, once it has been under CO2 in the corny. I've ordered some standard brewing sugar so will give this a go this weekend. Also tempted to transfer to secondary fermenter after fermentation has finished (or should i leave it sitting on the yeast for a furthe...

Wilco's Mexican Lager kit

Evening all I'm having some issues with the Wilco's mexican lager kit coming out brown instead of a straw colour similar to Corona. I brewed this years ago (different kit and i can't remember the ingredients i used) and had good success, since i am back brewing, i've changed my kit and am now gettin...

What do you think of the below Mangrove Jack American IPA pouch kit as the base Mangrove jack 1.2kgs LME Mosaic pellets Cascade pellets Chinook pellets Planning to add 50g of each ...

Re: Brewing a lager using a kit, lager yeast and a brew fridge

Thanks WA Liking the summer pint idea, though i do need to crack the basics before getting adventurous. Issue in a thread above, getting a caramel taste to the beer. From reading here, it looks like the fermentation temp suggested 18-24 might be where i am going wrong. Looking at the following Looki...

Re: Brewing a lager using a kit, lager yeast and a brew fridge

Thanks

Re: Caramel Taste to beer

May have gone slightly off topic here, does the below look ok? Just need to know fermentation temps as bulldog giving an 18-24 range which maybe causing my problems. Looking at two weeks to ferment (is 14 too high or should I go for 12)? Crash cool to 4 degrees for one week then transfer to the corn...

Re: Caramel Taste to beer

Thanks both Initial mistake in the original post, it was a coopers european lager kit that has had the DME and not the Bulldog. Temperature wise I just followed the instructions, is there an ideal temperature and schedule for brewing kit lagers? After fermentation I have reduced them temp to cold ch...

Caramel Taste to beer

Hi All Seem to be having an issue on the last few kit brews and now getting a caramel taste to the beer. I've recently brewed a Mexican Cerveza expecting a light straw coloured beer. I got something that was slightly darker with a caramel taste. Bulldog Mexican Cerveza 1kg extra light DME 20lts untr...

Re: Amazon deal on "Clone Brews"

Thanks All

Just getting back int this after a while away. Yep, i can see the brown box at the bottom, its just a bit confusing but worth it when i have it sorted out.

Any thoughts on the ingredients or indeed a UK substitute available in the UK?
