Re: Changes in AA Levels Over the Years
I'm pretty sure that the brewing industry has driven hop growers to develop strains that produce more AA per kilo for purely commercial reasons. That's been going on for decades.

Re: 2 batches poured down the drain!
Throwing one batch of beer away is soul-destroying; 2 must be unimaginably crap. Sorry to hear it.

I can't get either of those to work (the FT one is behind a paywall I think) but I searched the BBC website and found this -

Looks nice. Do you get your grain much cheaper with a bulk buy?

I don't remember ever seeing that book around in the shops at the time (and I used to browse HB sections in bookshops a lot). Odd.

Re: Moldy taste from Beer Engine does not go away
There's this one as well where I changed the seals in my EWL beer engine.

Probably a bit more about me fumbling about in the dark though.

Re: Moldy taste from Beer Engine does not go away
If bleach and beer line cleaner can't shift the taint I'd be looking for a refund.
It obviously hasn't been properly refurbished if it's still mouldy inside.

You can only get away without adding sugar if the sugar content in the pressed fruit juice is high enough to give an OG of at least 70 on its own.

Re: I need an easy way to pump beer line cleaner through my lines
As Jocky says, the simplest solution is to get it through the lines the same way you get the beer through, i.e. using CO2 pressure if using a keg, or using the beer engine to pump it through if using a cask.
