Please post replies here - https://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/vie ... 38&t=84252

Cross posting in two forums causes problems, so please don't do it. I'm locking this instance of the post.

Re: English Trappist Beer

I can't get either of those to work (the FT one is behind a paywall I think) but I searched the BBC website and found this -

Looks nice. Do you get your grain much cheaper with a bulk buy?

I don't remember ever seeing that book around in the shops at the time (and I used to browse HB sections in bookshops a lot). Odd.

Re: Moldy taste from Beer Engine does not go away

There's this one as well where I changed the seals in my EWL beer engine. :)

Probably a bit more about me fumbling about in the dark though.

Re: Moldy taste from Beer Engine does not go away

If bleach and beer line cleaner can't shift the taint I'd be looking for a refund.

It obviously hasn't been properly refurbished if it's still mouldy inside.

Re: not using sugar in wine making

You can only get away without adding sugar if the sugar content in the pressed fruit juice is high enough to give an OG of at least 70 on its own.

You need the follow up video as well - he got the parts and fixed it: -

Re: I need an easy way to pump beer line cleaner through my lines

As Jocky says, the simplest solution is to get it through the lines the same way you get the beer through, i.e. using CO2 pressure if using a keg, or using the beer engine to pump it through if using a cask.

Re: Brew Your Own British Real Ale (3rd Edition)- Graham Wheeler

I also have the 3rd edition dated 2009 - no Deuchars IPA in it. It must be in the subsequent edition he wrote several years later.
