Re: Maidstone Brewers - Tuesday 26th August
I'd like to join in but won't know until nearer the time if I'll be available.
I'm surprised you haven't had a bigger response to such a good idea as there are quite a few local home brewers.
Good luck, I hope this takes off!

Re: stir plate
I built two of these a couple of years back for a little over £30 each and hardly use them now. After experimenting with liquid yeast, I have now returned to using dried yeast because I find it more convenient. Here's a price break down... Enclosure box £11.65 12v PC fan £2.55 Variable speed control...

Re: Brown Rabbit @ Mad Cat Brewery
Congrats on your competition win & prize!
It must have been a great experience to have your own recipe brewed on a commercial micro scale!
Nice story, well done!
Any idea what pubs this will be available at?

WLP051 California V Starter Question
I'm relatively new to liquid yeast/starters etc and need the advice of someone more experienced. Just removed a 1 litre WLP051 starter from the stir plate and I'm not sure if the yeast looks quite right to me. Instead of a creamy consistency settling on the bottom of the flask, it looks more granula...

Re: how much insulation do I need for a FV cupboad kept in s
Hi Andy, get yourself a cheep second hand fridge! They're already insulated and it'll give you the option to cool when needed in the warmer months.

Re: Manifold Questions
Mine is a similar design to yours, fitted to an Igloo Ice Cube only with slightly less distance between copper pipe and coolbox wall and I don't suffer any noticeable channeling. Run off can be a little slow at times but this is a common problem with copper manifolds. I've part soldered mine enough ...

Re: Vials for storing split yeast ?
From my limited knowledge, I'd say you'd obviously have to cultivate a few times to step up from these 10ml or 30ml vials to get a decent sized starter. Wouldn't it be easier to buy a small table top fridge to store your bottles in? (if you have the space). I store my splits in 300ml amber screw cap...

Re: Stout & Bitter Double Brew Day
Quite a busy day running two brews side by side so not as many photos as I wanted. Prince of Darkness. All went well but had to dilute back a little to hit desired OG and quantity. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f311/kapscarpgallery/Brewing/P1030331.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f311/kaps...

A sink and drainage would be most useful! It's a pain to keep going back to the kitchen!
