I think you think that I am intending to leave the cooler on permanently, no. What I meant was if the, say, ST1000 thinks the wort is too cold in my fermentation fridge it turns on the tube heater. Too hot it turns on the fridge. But won't there be a problem if all you have is a chiller and no heater?

I don't know as I bought it S/H and I haven't seen any identifying marks.
I could do that, but would prefer not to, besides what about if the wort was too cold?

I have built a fermentation fridge, which is great for 5 gallons but now I am planning on brewing bigger batches the fermentation vessel will not fit inside. I have bought s/h a conical fermenter that I thought would fit into a tall larder fridge but is ever so slightly too deep for the fridge. Now ...
