Re: FastFerment or similar insulated jacket

I think the answer here for a few brews a year is Kviek Voss yeast as another post said. I have a brew fridge for 18*c ale. But when I found out about Kviek a year ago things have changed. In Queensland this summer we are at 28* to 32*c so all I need is the fermenter with bath towel a heater belt an...

Re: Grainfather pump

With the Grainfather 10 minutes before end of boil I turn the pump on to sanitise the chiller than at end of boil turn on cooling water to bring down the temperature in the Grainfather.. Than when ready to transfer to the fermenter turn the pump off for a few seconds.. This is when it won’t pump but...

Re: Liquid yeast viability.

I have just pitched a Wyeast smack pack and don't think it's viable, out of date by a two months and was kept in the fridge at 5*c which should be OK but I just think it will be good.. Pitched Saturday night and no change in SG on Monday night... It's a Fullers London Pride with 4120g of grain so wi...

Re: New Hand Pump setup

My 20-300mbar regulator was a myth! I'll not be receiving it. What I have found is although you can find a adjustable / variable regulator in a pdf, you can't necessarily find it for sale on the internet...... But the best I have found was ebay UK 0-2 Bar 0-29 psi £14.50...... https://www.ebay.co.u...

Re: New Hand Pump setup

Ordered the blowtie today also found the regulator https://www.kegland.com.au/blowtie-diaphragm-spunding-valve-kit.html https://www.kegland.com.au/in-line-regulator.html Been looking for LPG regulator 50-150mbar in Australia and the only specifications are in it's photo and no unit without the POL a...

Re: New Hand Pump setup

PeeBee I noted that the 50-150mbar BP1813 is 0.725 psi to 2.17 psi but the 20-300mbar 0.29psi to 4.35 psi would be far better for Real Ale IMO.... So it's on my shopping list if you give a good report about the unit.. Had a look at pneumatic regulators and found a Shako at 0.7 psi to 28 psi for £59....

Re: New Hand Pump setup

Found these and they would be great when priming keg or cube, found them on a UK site at twice the Australian price... https://www.kegland.com.au/blowtie-diaphragm-spunding-valve-kit.html "The BlowTie has been made completely differently taking advantage of a diaphragm to actuate the sealing mechani...

Re: New Hand Pump setup

PeeBee Demand valve is fixed on shopping list The LPG regulator is doing more for you than you might expect. The very slight pressure they maintain keeps the beer in condition for a good while. Essential for home-brew which isn't going to be all drunk in a matter of a few days (hours?). Cask breathe...

Re: New Hand Pump setup

Eric Found a place that makes the "TRADITIONAL ENGLISH PUB HUNTSMEN SCENE DESIGNS" and they post worldwide.. https://www.chrisastonceramics.co.uk/beer-pump-clips-beer-handles.html But at 23.50 each it's more than Harry Mason's that look the same for 13.25..... Harry Mason also have demand valve ( bu...

Re: New Hand Pump setup

Jim Thanks for the quick reply "I'm not familiar with that type of pump" Was hoping a few others would see the photo also "pressure in the keg is kept at 3psi or less, you should be OK without a check valve" First pour last night got quite a few drips even with the chrome shut off valve closed so ye...

New Hand Pump setup

Can anybody tell me more about this Gaskell & Chambers pump, age, beer style etc.. In the photo the chrome end is a shut off ...
