Just found a crack in the lid of my cheapo Wilko pressure barrel, which will explain why the couple of pints of stout had no pressure when I drew them off... Found a spare lid with a valve on it and swapped it this afternoon, so hopefully it's still good. Also have it a blast of CO2 to be on the saf...

I've just brewed a 5 year old Wilko 2 can bitter kit BBE may 2015 (the Wherry one) and it seems fine. Got some new yeast and set it away on Thursday and it smells like wherry should in the FV. Also got a golden ale kit with the same best before date and a Cooper's wheat beer from 5 years to go on to...

Got one of these 2 can kits in the cupboard with a best before of 2015, noticed they no longer do these only the 1 can option.
Any recommendations as to spruce it up a bit? I suspect the cans will be fine, but the hoppiness may have worn off perhaps.
What type and how many hops would be a good idea?

I once did a Festival Landlords Finest a few years back and it set off like a rocket too. The smell from the fermenter was a bit pungent too! But that meant the yeast was working as it should. Turned out ok, but a bit too bitter for me, but I suspect you won't have that problem with a wheat beer. Wi...
