I still like the look of the ESF over the ‘stock pot’ look, but I know there a personal thing.
Without the FV I think it’s about £2300 as is.
FV is somewhere about the £480 mark.

Re: Smoked beer brewday
Yeah, it suppresses ester production so can ferment warmer, faster and carbonates quickerBad 'Ed wrote:What does fermenting under pressure do? Allow you to ferment at a higher temp?

Re: Lager and pressure fermentation questions/experiment
I currently have 10L of smoked beer under 20psi at room temp fermenting with CML hell pipsner yeast. The other 15L of the batch is fermenting @ 18oC with Lallamand kolsch. Will be interesting to see the difference

Smoked beer brewday
Now chaps. Fired up the brew kettle the other day to get a smoked beer on the go. Ended up splitting the batch between Lallamand kolsch and CML Hell yeasts. The former is in the Ferm fridge at 18, the latter fermenting on a corni at room temp, but at 20psi. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210302/...

Re: Høg Norsk Europe pale ale (not a kolsch)
Well, after a week ish in the cold, this is tasting very nice. Clean, but with a slight ale eater. Tastes very German/European ale. Slight lagery. I’d like to maybe swap out the bobek for maybe a hallertau or a saaz addition to see how that goes. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200925/c312c70a350...

Sample out this afternoon. Down to 1.008 so 80% attenuation. Still yeasty but tastes very German/Nobel lagery! Very happy with it!
