Re: House Session Pale Ale v1 & v2
Did you have to drill the hole for the temperature probe, or does the FV come pre-drilled? Looking at the SS website, there appears to be a temperature gauge thin that position, so it would seem that there is a hole there already, but I can't see for certain.

Re: Look what I found under the Christmas tree...
I didn't take any pics, but will do when I have a minute. Basically I made a wooden collar, screwed it to the top of the fridge and then re-attached the "lid" to the frame using the same fittings as originally used. I used a little box on top of the old fridge to fit the controller, but wanted a cle...

Re: Sight Glass Calibration
What sort of scales are you using for this, Barneey? I have been thinking of doing something similar.I`ve gone down a slightly different route, calibraten the sightglass at say 20c, I`ve then placed a permanent set of scales under the MT and the boiler.

Re: Neat idea, or pointless...
OK, so I bought one (for the princely sum of £9.46). I have a batch fermenting at the moment, but it's nearly finished (will be bottling tomorrow) so not too much happening, but I gave it a go anyway. You can see a video snippet here You can clearly see the bubbles appearring at the surface... It wi...

Quick and dirty font
I wanted something better to serve my draft beer from than a tap connected directly to the keg, so I knocked this together out of some scrap wood today

I'm very pleased with it! Just needs a coat of varnish now...

Re: Neat idea, or pointless...
I do, but I use a 33l stockpot, and the lid doesn't seal very well.Do you have a air lock on your fermenter ?

Re: Neat idea, or pointless...
Not sure you would see much to be honest That was my initial thought too, but it does have LEDS so you should at least be able to see if there is Krausen and activity. The lid on my fermentor doesn't seal properly, so there is never any bubbler activity and so I never know if fermentation is actual...

Neat idea, or pointless...
I found this on eBay. I thought it might be a good idea to fit one to the lid of the fermenter to monitor fermentation progress. A good idea, or pointless exercise?

Re: Brew #33 - First brew with the new brewery
It's a standard 33L Stockpot - the Bergland/ebay sort...What size (L) is your SS FV?
It is a bit too small, but I was limited by the size of the fermenting fridge, and didn't want to replace that too.

Re: Brew #33 - First brew with the new brewery
