I would recommend this one. It has a proper stainless steel backing nut instead of the plastic ones that some suppliers are selling.

Re: Should bottling take this long?
I rinse well any bottles i intend to use for brewing once i've emptied the contents, dry them on the bottle tree and then store them covered until use, i've never worried about scrubbin bottles out. When it comes to bottling day, i use a no rinse sanitiser (starsan at 1.6ml/litre) to sanitise each b...

Re: starsan its uses
Not sure where I originally heard this but it's best to use distilled water to make up starsan. It definitely increases its shelf life over tap water.

Re: Gas rings
I also just bought the large square boiling ring from Hamiltons. I wasn't sure of the options and went for the standard click on reg for propane 'patio gas' cylinders which delivers 37mbar. I tried boiling 30L of water from around 16C. It took around 55mins. The burner is rated to output 8.8kw, so i...

Re: Gas Burner Output, Boil Time, Regulators?
I was boiling outside with the lid on. Yeah I realise there will be quite a difference between the theory and reality. Was really wondering what to realistically expect and whether I am using the optimal set-up. Thanks for the reply.

Gas Burner Output, Boil Time, Regulators?
Hi all, I bought this burner http://www.gasproducts.co.uk/acatalog/Large_Square_Gas_Boiling_Ring.html#aHA316 from Hamiltons Gas. I wasn't sure about the associated hardware so I just took what they recommended which was a http://www.gasproducts.co.uk/acatalog/LPG_Reca_Patio_Gas_37_mbar_Low_Pressure_...

All Grain Brewers - Belfast/N.Ireland
Hi to all, I am about to embark on my first all grain brew and was wondering if there is any other all grainers in the Belfast area who have information on the local water profile. I would be interested to know member's experiences, are pH/salts adjustments of much consequence?. I am intending to ma...
