Re: Brewferm Wheat?

I brewed to 23l and expect around 5.2%, the standard stuff will be 4.9. if I had used the kit, liquid malt extract and the dry malt extract, I dread to think how strong it would come out at.

Re: Brewferm Wheat?

Should have said I added some Saaz and Goldings. I didn't really have an SG to go by, it was 1052.

I ended up doing the Brewferm kit, a tin of Coopers wheat malt extract and a pack of Wheat malt and some Belgian yeast.

There's no real need to boil honey. Boiling will drive away a lot of flavor and aroma.
A golden ale would work well with more delicate honeys like clover and alfalfa.

How much would you use per 23l

Re: Honey Brew?

I would boil the honey before adding, but what sort of kit is best to use? I was wondering about a golden ale.

The yeast will stay OK in the 'fridge for a week at least. As long as it hasn't picked up any contaminants it should be fine.

Doesn't the lager kit come with yeast?

Guy
It does come with a yeast, I just thought this would do a better job.

Yup. Just remember to keep it in the 'fridge and loosen the top of the bottle every now and then to let the gas out.

How long will it be before you use it?

Guy

I have a Wilco Mexican lager kit and wondered about using it in that.
