Re: 10 gallon Boiler Buckets no longer available

Was hoping this topic would lead to some alternatives to the H&G 10 gallon bucket being brought up.

I want to start building my boiler next month!

Are there any smaller options? 6-7 gallons?

Re: Regulator

Would these do the job?

PTFE tape appears to have worked as a short term solution. My cornie is now sitting in a puddle though, it appears beer/gas is leaking through the out post. What do I need to do stop this leak?

Re: Regulator

Hmm, guessing it never came with one unless it got lost amongst all the foam pieces. Where could I buy one from?

Re: Regulator

Cheers. Had another play with it, managed to get the needle up on the output which is connected to the cornie, but as soon as the gas was off it went back down to zero which seems to fit in with theory that gas is leaking out of the connection to the keg. Wondering now whether its an issue with the ...

Regulator

Just picked up my gas bottle, the final piece of the cornie set-up puzzle. I don't really know what I'm doing though. I screwed the regulator on to the gas bottle, turned on the tap a little and it feels like air is coming out through the thread of the gold coloured connector to the gas bottle (see ...

Re: Corny cleaning

Thanks guys. The Iodophor is Brupaks Iodophor from a HBS, reading the label it says 'rince thoroughly'. Goes agains't the reason I bought it really - have I bought the wrong stuff?

Re: Corny cleaning

Thought I'd hijack this thread, I'v read through a few posts on this but I'm still confused.

Just got my first corny and want to start using it. I'v got some Iodophor, Richies Steriliser, Soda Crystals, and my arms are small enough to reach the bottom. What do I do?

Re: Help with first brew

1) No, anything up to ~3 weeks is fine in your primary (the dead yeast may affect the beers flavour after this time), and perhaps even longer from a secondary. 2) These should be fine. Make sure you use the correct amount of priming sugar for the size of bottle, Coopers recommend 8g/100cl, so scale ...

Re: Sealed Container or Airlock Container?

During fermentation the beer will produce CO2, and the airlock allows this to escape, whilst preventing oxygen or dust getting in to the vessel. If the container were completely sealed the pressure would increase until the seal or container failed, which could be messy or even dangerous. Having said...

Re: Demijohn's?

Hopefully this will help.. (you will probably know most of this already, so apologies if you find it abit patronising, just wanted to give as complete an answer as possible and get you on the right track.) Once the beer has stopped primary fermentation (your gravity reading remains steady over 48 ho...
