Sorry not sure what forum I need to post this on for knowledge database Clive? I did a little video, rather amateurish... http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Foam Filler
I have 2 of the German/ French thermo pots to which I am intent on installing bottom drains. I have already made a hole large enough to install my pipe work and removed the foam from one pot. I have done a search for builders foam. What I have found is that most foams have a 50 deg limit on usage. I...

Re: New Shiny Build Alert!
Tool kit I was a nervous wreck before I started drilling - you just need to take the bull by the horns. I used Starrett 21mm and 40mm cutting tools. The 6mm bit on these is not bad but I found drilling out before hand with a 3mm cobalt HSS bit was a good idea and I actually ended up also pre-drilli...

Re: The new sight glass
Nope, just use either a thru dec fitting or a long nipple with a washer + tighten , then tighten again. Should it not work squirt a little LSX compound behind the washer and try again. Now I'm being a pest.... Ok I know you are a user of qmax - can you use these directly on double skinned pot or ar...

Re: The new sight glass
To further explain the lesser litre values this is the standard bottom feed ones I`ve built in the past. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd434/barneeybrew/IMG_4693.jpg You'll notice the JG fittings and the 1/2 pipework move the readable level higher up the pot. Sorry Barneey, a bit off topic......

Re: Rover Pump M-20
Does self priming mean you can run it dry? If so why aren't all pumps like that. Or... Should I say is there a benefit of a pump not being self priming. self-priming and (truly) run-dry are different really, self-priming pumps can run dry but not 'necessarily' for very long without wearing excessiv...

You can run this dry - there is stainless steel driveshaft, however, I would not want to do this indefinitely. I think price has a lot to do with ...

Wow that thing is noisy, I thought the March Pumps were bad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzjpg6WUMqA Have you tried mounting the thing on a piece of noise suppression sheet? Re: Rover Pump M-20
Looking good Jim, quick one though mate if you don't mind and slightly off topic. I notice you have a lot of permanent piping, how do you find the clean down at the end of the day and do you clean in place or dismantle bits? Cheers, Cooky Thanks Cooky, I'm afraid up till lately I have been a bit sl...
