Re: Keezer queries! Fans, temperatures etc.?
My keezer has a temperature difference of about 8C from top to bottom without a fan. I 3d printed a computer fan holder which runs all the time and it keeps it within 1C - it works really well. I like cold beer too so keep it at 1C. It's nice to see how it changes as it warms! https://i.imgur.com/Ij...

Thanks for all the advice on this post. It's taken 11 years being on this forum but I'm finally an AG brewer now!

Re: heater wattage for fermentation fridge?
Any 1ft greenhouse heater from eBay will be more than enough - I heat a FC with 3 FVs in it with one. You could even use a lesser powered reptile bulb (they don't emit light) but that would be more expensive. I would stick a fan in there as well for good heat distribution - computer fans are great a...

This is normal - I imagine it's bubbling fine now?
As I understand it the yeast need to colonise the wort - literally divide and conquer. Once they've colonised they can start producing CO2. They had less to conquer in the DJ so it was quicker.

Guy - thanks so much for your guide and analysis. I am playing around with Graham's calculator to reproduce similar figures.

Re: Water treatment at it simplest
I do, Wallybrew did it a few years ago and I've been procrastinating and pulling my hair out over Bru'n Water ever since!
Can you help and recommend what to do? I like pale ales.

Re: Kindest sterilisers on septic tank system
(Pine disinfectants and products like Dettol and Jays Fluid are the worst options; though I doubt if anyone would use these for brewing, but obviously there are always exceptions) Thanks for that information - it's all really interesting. Obviously Dettol and Jeyes Fluid are not used for brewing bu...
