Re: Northern Monk Recipe Request
That recipe is based on good information. By all means adjust for efficiency. BTW, the above recipe is based on 75% efficiency, using Brewmate software, which I find pretty relaible. I usually get 80% myself. I don't often use a lot of an adjunct, like the oats. But the software will take account of...

Re: Exmoor Gold & Styrian hop advice
The choice of yeast will be more important than the choice of Styrians.

Re: Your favourite Graham Wheeler recipe...
That’s always the question! Do the Nussdorf you’ll not regret it. What yeast do you recommend for it? I bought GW's European book second hand a few weeks ago but haven't brewed anything from it yet but I noticed that he doesn't specify a yeast Wyeast 1007 would be another good option, I reckon.
Re: Wyeast
You can listen to lots of alterntives and vote, here...! http://www.pronouncekiwi.com/Wyeast This site reckons it's 'why-yeast', which is what I've always said, by some kind of fluke. https://stason.org/TULARC/indulgence/beer-brewing/23-What-is-Wyeast-liquid-yeast-How-is-Wyeast-pronoun.html "The nam...

Re: Recreating Boddingtons
I'm not sure what the fuss about Boddingtons bitter is all about, it always seemed fairly unremarkable to me and I did drink quite a bit of it. Anyway... There's a list of recipes posted on Ron Pattinson's blog here: http://www.unholymess.com/blog/lets-brew/comment-page-1 ctrl f and search for "bod...

Re: Malt Miller Mini-Mash Kits
I often do partial mash brews and the Maltmiller liquid extract is a good base that I will be using more, though I usually use dried extract. I then typically mash about 1kg base malt with other grains required by the recipe. I do use brewing software to assemble the recipe to check IBUs and OG etc....

I'm pretty sure M27 became M29 French Saison. Yeast sans frontieres.

Re: Any good low ABV recipes out there?
Some interesting thoughts from peebee. I have used and adapted published recipes and reduced the ABV many times, simply by reducing the base malt. And the bittering hops to maintain the gravity/IBU ratio. It means your specialty malt % can rise significantly. But it works. Avoid using yeast that is ...

You could get a Kolsch or California Common yeast from Crossmyloofbrew. £1.31 including postage. Cost less if you buy more. Their website is closed til the weekend, hopefully back up tomorrow. This is their price list from Facebook:

Add hops. This sort of kit is late hop deficient. It'll make a big difference.

Re: I keep getting a weird urge to do a kit.
I do a very occasional kit, I tend to add beer enhancer, steep a bit of grain of some sort like crystal, and do a short hop boil. I find the bit of grain and the hops make a huge difference. I once split lager a kit three ways, and used the kit yeast, an ale yeast. All had an enhancer added. One had...
