Re: AHA Membership?
Worth doing for zymurgy and back issues... Plus the recorded talks from the homebrewers association conf.
I joined because you had to to attend the conference... I'll keep the membership going for the mags.

Re: Water pooling in the keezer...
Mop it up... Put kegs inside bin bags... Water should pool in the bags instead.
I'm replacing my kegorator with a keezer. Resigned myself to doing the bag thing from comments in us forums

Whilst technically you might not need one based on the cell count when it leaves the lab... The yeast has come from the states then spend time in our postal service.... Always...

Re: St George and The Flagon
Personally I find bramling cross a bit much late in the boil. I also wouldn't bother with the US style hopping timings. If it was me I'd go with the 60 and 15 as you have it, then chuck 30 g of wgv in at 0 minutes and steep for 20. ... I'd also drop the crystal to 5% .... I know you are supposed to ...

I don't think that they have access to it.
They had to explain what it was in lectures at this years us home brewer conference.

If you order with other hops it makes financial sense and its all pellets.
I have had a 2x4lbs from them in the past with no issues.

Re: Effect of mashing with too much water
I have read and heard opinions that thinner mashes can make a more fermentable wort. however I haven't ever seen any scientific evidence. I think anything from 2x water to grain to 5x is ok. And biab goes above this and no one has any issue with that. I wouldn't worry for now... But if you want to e...

Re: Using Hop Pellets
I normally dont, but a friend in the US has brought me over some Chinook and Cascade Pellets. I don't think he fancied getting the whole hops thru customs. So is there anything I need to know. I am guessing weight wise use the same amount? Should I expect any difference in results? Change the boil ...
