I am curious as to the difference in the quantities of sugars in the Bitter recipes over the years versus malt. Which year had the greatest sugar addition? Great historical info, thanks for taking the time to share this.

Your bitterness will indeed be out of kilter if you short brew the kit. As you are already kitted out for all grain why not do a mini-mash and then then bung the kit into it? No bittering hops required.

The BBC video was a real blast from the past. I did a quick search for the "Semplex" yeast that he was using, it seems as though they don't exist any more. Thanks for sharing the links.
