Interesting thread, I started using chemsan three or four brews ago as I had run out of starsan.
I haven’t noticed any difference in its performance, however there is a strong fishy smell coming from it once diluted.
Can’t recall Starsan having the same smell. Anyone else noticed this ?

Re: Something Brewing StAnnes
Can’t advise about Lytham but the one in Cleveleys is open and stocks some grains and grain kits.
Salford home brew is still going.
Shame about Leyland I got a lot of speciality grains from them calling in on my way up to the in-laws in Poulton.

Re: Any expert/experienced hop growers out there?
Can’t really help with the why because I’m no expert but my second year fuggles have developed long laterals about 2 foot up as well where as the EKG and cascade all appear fine

Re: Bit of advice needed
Cheers guys, I’ve got 300g of mosaic hop pellets left. I used 200g in my last 50 litre brew then cold crashed.
Still no flavour and no aroma. Plus it won’t clear.

Re: Bit of advice needed
I’ve got a 60 litre wide opening, not sure I could introduce CO2, but the cold crashing is ringing a bell, the beer tastes pretty hoppy until I cold crash.

Bit of advice needed
Looking for a bit of advice folks, I’ve been brewing for quite a while now and have been really struggling with hoppy beers. I have been trying to make hop forward pales. Throwing in tons of late hops like Citra and mosaic but can never really taste either hop in the finished beer even when drank yo...

Myself and Barney will be there. We have booked an overnighter in Bradford which is a short train ride.
Anyone else interested in staying over and having a few further drinks and a curry after the comp ?

Re: Hop Growing 2017
Morning all
My cascade and EKG hops are almost ready for harvest, I may not have time for a "wet hop brew" so was considering the purchase of a dehydrator. Anyone got any recommendations in respect of makes and models etc ?
Regards Paul

Pimping mild kit
I have not used a kit in 7 years but having moved house very recently and not being in a position to get a grain brew on for a while I picked up an out of date John Bull mild kit for £4 from tesco and was wondering how best to pimp it up ? I have hops a plenty for a hop tea and will be using one of ...
