Re: Flat beer
Sorry meaty i meant to say FG but my internet went down and couldn't correct it. Meatymc if you have batch primed have you tried putting a sample in the hydrometer to see if the yeast has died? the OG should be up if it has, at least that will confirm you didn't forget your sugar. Good luck Good th...

Re: Home Grown Hops 2019
Replanted my East Kent Goldings and pearl last winter onto the allotment a massive root system more like a shrub with roots as thick as inch a half, I don't think they liked it as the crop was very poor only 300g.

Re: Hop Growing 2018
Greetings all. my goldings are doing really well, lots of large cones i put this down to the fact that I only let 4 bines grow on and trimmed all the others off. Unfortunately I'm on Hols next Sunday for a month which means picking them early vacuum packing and freezing. My pearle are doing OK but i...

Re: Should chilling begin at 'final gravity'?
I ferment for about a week then transfer to a secondary for 3 days-ish then add gelatin and (dry hops if needed) drop temperature to 1c for 3 days take a FG if it's around 1010 then bottle with priming sugar (5.65g per litre) in the bottling bucket.

Re: CRS
If it is a stainless sink, there is some possibility that the etching looks worse because it is also cleaner than the surrounding metal. If so, then the contrast could be reduced by cleaning it all thoroughly, with something like barkeeper's friend. (Were it thick stainless then you could probably ...

CRS
Poured an out of date bottle of CRS down the sink yesterday, bad move it stained the sink i don't know if T-cut will move it. The moral of the story pour salts etc down the drain not the sink. Oh yes and admit to nothing.

Ideas needed
OK lads & lassies, I need some ideas. I want to replant my Goldings and Perle hops in the winter onto my allotment from home. What should I use to support them and how high? It can at times be a little windy if that's any help but I can find a bit of a sheltered spot.

infection (lazy)
Poured 2 seperate five gallon batches down the sink last week. the first one had a distinct smell of yeast infection (bit like some french beers). The first brew was mature and ready for drinking thats when the smell hit me, not pungent just not my type of beer. Emptied all the bottles cleaned scrub...
