15mm brass compression tee plus a 3/4 X 1/2 inch bush? You could solder the bush for a sanitary joint?

Re: Three piece hydrometers?
Actually, reading again it says for measuring white wine not red wine, nor spirit. I would therefore assume it measures alcohol but with a presumption of sugar content for white wine. Dodgy, I would say.

Re: Three piece hydrometers?
I don't know if I'm too late and I could be wrong but I think these might be alcohol not sugar hydrometers ie. For liquids lighter than water. The scale has the highest values at the top as opposed to an sg hydrometer which has the lowest value at the top. Also, who's ever heard of a wine over 60% l...

I agree with not worrying about dead space on a mash tun, you can easily just add more liquor.

Re: Thermopot Bottom Drain Options
I think central drain is better if you're fly sparging because of even draining but if you're batch sparging then it probably makes no difference. If you're happy to solder then you can avoid cutting up the bottom too much too - threaded fittings seem to involve a lot more cutting on the underside o...

Re: Air Tight Connection Between John Guest Adaptor And CO2
I would remove the outlet stem altogether if I were you. If it's a UK regulator I suspect it will be a 1/4" bsp entry to the manifold.

Re: 1.5" BSP element punch
That's just right I'd say, a 1.1/2" bsp thread has a major diameter of 47.8mm according to a quick check on the web.

Re: Check my ball valve config please
That's a nice simple solution, so long as the outside seal is good that's all you really need. Don't bother with the inside washer as it serves little purpose and whilst ptfe tape on the threads will help prevent thread leak it just becomes a pain whilst cleaning - this setup will require disassembl...

Re: oil drums as wind sheilding
I use an oil drum on my boiler but mine isn't cut in half, I just slide it on. It actually hangs on the handles of the 70l bergland pot I have. I must admit that I keep meaning to cut it in half as much for ease of storage as anything. I think you will have problems with the sight glass and probe yo...

Re: EasyKeg Secondary
I think you'll have little joy adapting the tap to take a tube or adding a new tap, the bore on the tap is tiny and the kegs are made from coated steel so any drilling will be tempting rust. Worth mentioning that you can get these kegs with beer in if you're wanting to see what they're like, lidl se...

I measure the head space and subtract from the full volume. I have a 70L bergland pot and 1" is near enough 4L.

Re: Corny Keg with loads of Beer Stone
I seem to remember reading that beer stone is harder to remove than scale due to it being a combination of proteins and scale locked together. The suggested method of removal was pbw or similar to attack the protein followed by a scrub or rinse with acid to tackle the scale.

Actually, 316 is marine grade, 304 is perhaps more common as it's cheaper. Not really heard of 201, but here's some info -
