Re: kegerator not dispensing?

I had a similar thing a couple of months ago with a corny, and with perfect timing it was when we were having a party - it stopped flowing once the night before, was ok again the next morning, then stopped for good during the party. Fortunately I had a spare party tap and long enough beer line...

Re: gas burner for outdoor brewing

That burner is what I've been using for the last few years - when I first had it I used it outdoors, now I use it in my garage (after I managed to get enough room to brew in there!). When it's in the garage next to the up-and-over door (opened a bit for ventilation) and it's a windy day then it has ...

Re: Liquid Mistress (Siren)

Thanks - I'll do that. I have gently roused it a couple of times, but as you say it may well keep dropping. I'll need to get it shifted into a keg fairly soon, though, so it can keep going in there. Since I've got enough for a few bottles as well, I think I'd better barely prime them (if at all!) if...

Re: Liquid Mistress (Siren)

I've just brewed this one myself. No idea what's gone on, but the mash was less efficient than expected so it started at 1.058, and by now it's completely stuck at 1.022, which is only 63% attenuation. I didn't note it at the time, but I have a feeling I maybe mashed a bit warm, so that won't have h...

Re: Possibly the cheapest counter pressure bottle filler

I got mine a couple of days ago, and filled a bottle last night with great ease - really quick and effective with very little foam in the bottle, and that was at my normal serving pressure but with a foot of 3/8" rather than several feet of 3/16". I'm going to be very inclined now to just brew to a ...

Re: Possibly the cheapest counter pressure bottle filler

They look like a great idea - I've ordered a couple myself from the eBay link in the OP. Estimated delivery from Australia is 10-14 July, which is pretty damn quick as well, so I may even be able to try them out for the party I'm going to on Saturday!

Re: Spanner wrench for keggorator taps/shanks in the UK?

Thanks - looks like they're harder to get hold of than just popping down to Screwfix or the like, but at least I now know what we call them!

Spanner wrench for keggorator taps/shanks in the UK?

Since making my keggorator back in the summer I keep struggling to undo the taps from the shanks when cleaning it. Life would probably have been easier if I'd noticed these when I bought the taps & shanks from Kegworks: http://www.kegworks.com/spanner-wrench Anyone know where I can find one of these...

Re: Bramble stout?

I did one last year, but it was an all-grain brew so the recipe itself wouldn't be much use to you! I added about 2kg of brambles after the main fermentation had finished, mushed up a bit with a spoon to free the juice, and gave it about 10 days before bottling. I wish I had put them in a bag, becau...

Re: Auto Syphons

I really like them, but I've managed to break a couple, and my current one seems to be sucking air into the liquid past the seal inside the outer tube. I'm just hoping the beer survives this oxygenation...

Re: R/O price

My local Maidenhead Aquatics charged around that (might have even been £3.50, can't remember exactly) when I got some back in the summer.

Re: CO2 leak from regulator

Thanks to a mate with a big vice, I've also managed to get mine off. I ended up taking the "cube of brass" thing off the regulator, which came off far easier. I now need to clean up the threads and put it back together again. Looks like some kind of thread-lock, which doesn't want to come off. I was...

Re: CO2 leak from regulator

I've been fighting with this thing for a week now and still can't get it undone! It's definitely a right-hand thread, so I know I'm turning it the right way. I've attacked it with a wire brush, basically soaked it in WD-40, tapped it with a hammer, tried moving it in both directions, and had not a s...

Re: Mash Tun Upgrade & False Bottom Feedback Please

I've been using one of these for the last couple of years and I'm very happy with it. I only ever lose about 1C over a 90 minute mash, even in winter in an un-heated detached garage and with 25 litre batches (~5kg grain?). I put a sheet of foil on top of the mash, fill the air space with bubble wrap...

I did wonder that, but looking at the thread I was fairly sure it was the normal direction. I'm at work so can't check until I get home.
