Re: HMRC Excise Notice 226: Beer Duty

What fun SALSA is! We are going to end up with ridiculous signage for everything by the look of things. Taken me days preparing the documentation.

Star San and yeast starters

Whilst wrestling sticky dryish malt extract to make a starter for a whitelabs kolsch, I managed to hurl my Erlenmeyer flask across the kitchen. It did not survive. Thusly a trusty demijohn was called into use. Being unable to hit it with boiling water after sanitisation as usual, I applied starsan. ...

Re: Funktown Yeast (Whitelabs)

Thanks Seymour, sounds like it should be good. Bargain at £2 or whatever it was.
I had best get some more hops then by the sound of it. I bought 500g of Wakatu for a fiver, quite unexciting hops but shall have a think about what to pair them with.
Good information and advice Sir as ever.

Anyone used this yeast? Whitelabs funktown, got cheap from The Malt Miller, sounds interesting. Any advice greatly received!

"Supping"! How dare you, swines. I wish that I was. My new job sees me asleep by 10 with no supping required. That bile was au naturel. I stand by my previous abusive statement.

Re: English hop farm supplier

That's extortionate, tossers probably see them as an "artisanal" product. Picked by grandpa jethro, packed in a brown paper bag fashioned from brother cleetus's desiccated faeces. Sickening that these skinny trousered bum fluff adorned, self indulgent ignorant hoors have now turned to hops. As has b...

Re: Canning your beer

When I arranged contract bottling, price when supplying 30HL was 40p/per 500ml bottle. I supplied the label. I think lower volumes cost £5.04 per case of 12, so 42p.

Be aware, dried fruit has the highest levels of sulphites commonly found in our food and drinks. If it bothers you of course!
